About Fred Marx: Photography From Christopher See
Who is Fred Marx? Fred is an alter ego I created long ago when the internet was a place where anonymity ruled. OK it still does. Fred's roots hearken to the day when "A Fred" was the guy who showed up to the Sunday morning coffee and bagel ride on a shiny new top of the line imported bike, outfitted with the latest and greatest stuff he could buy and full team kit. His kit would usually, but not always, match his frame graphics. He then proceeded to terrorize everyone on the ride with his shocking lack of bike handling skills and complete oblivion to same. Invariably at the end of the ride he would bear on his shaven calf, the greasy imprint of a portion of his large chain ring. A Fred mark.
This old Fred has been involved with cycling as a racer, crew, wrench, and spectator since the mid 1980's. Photographing it was an easy step forward, although not a easy step to master. Fred Marx can be found these days on the back of a caravan moto, chasing the peloton, or out standing in a field, seeking that elusive shot which will illustrate the sport I love.
When there is no cycling, I can be found wandering the hills and fields of Utah and the west in an attempt to capture the images it presents.
Currently Fred is, Mac OS-X powered, Nikon addicted and lives on the back of The Wasatch Front, in Utah.
